Year 1: Preparation for specialty education in orthopaedic surgery

Year 2: Orthopaedic principles and reinforcement of surgical skills

  • Pediatric Orthopaedics (3 months) - RWJUH
  • Trauma/Upper Extremity (3 months) - JSMC
  • Hand (3 months) - SPUH
  • Arthroplasty/Spine (6 weeks) - SPUH
  • Sports/Foot & Ankle(6 weeks) - SPUH

Year 3: Improvement of surgical skills

  • Orthopaedic Trauma (3 months) - JSMC
  • Sports/Spine (3 months) - RWJUH
  • Arthroplasty (3 months) - RWJUH
  • Upper Extremity (6 weeks) - SPUH
  • Sports/Foot & Ankle (6 weeks) - SPUH

Year 4: Advanced surgical skills and involvement with local/university sports teams

  • Musculoskeletal Oncology (2 months) - Sloan
  • Pediatric Orthopaedics (2 months) - RWJUH
  • Orthopaedic Trauma (2 months) - RWJUH
  • Upper Extremity (2 months) - SPUH
  • Spine (4 months) - RWJUH

Year 5: Preparation for independent practice and/or fellowship

  • Arthroplasty (4 months) - RWJUH
  • Sports (4 months) - SPUH
