Center for Innovations in Bloodless Surgery and Medicine

Jeffrey L. Carson, MD, is a nationally renowned expert on tranfusion-free medicine. His federally funded studies published in the Journal of the American Medical Association and the British Medical Journal Lancet have helped dispel some of the myths regarding when transfusions are considered necessary by healthcare providers.

Gerontological Institute

Established in 1988, the Gerontological Institute is directed by Elaine A. Leventhal, MD., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine and Head of Geriatrics. The mission of the Institute includes providing greater opportunities for basic and applied research and coordinating the education and information sharing of current research and treatment to the general public. The Institute conducts community education programs throughout New Jersey on a variety of topics including health promotion and keys to successful aging.

Medical Informatics

Frank Sonnenberg, MD is Medical Director of Clinical Information Systems and Professor of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School . In this capacity, Dr. Sonnenberg heads the Clinical Guideline Research Group. Cranbury Genesis Eldercare

Utilizing a comprehensive and coordinated approach, faculty members provide elder- and family-centric care at the Genesis ElderCare Center in Cranbury , NJ . The care continuum includes Alzheimers and dementia care, hospice care, palliative care, pulmonary care, respite care, skilled nursing care and subacute care.
