Community Service

An outgrowth of the Humanism and Professionalism Council in 1998, this resident-run initiative works in conjunction with the community outreach departments at both of our teaching hospitals and other area organizations.  Over the last 5 years, the efforts and commitment of our residents have yielded over 900 hours of service to the greater New Brunswick area.

Residents voluntarily devote time to a variety of activities including:

  • Presentations about health topics at community centers
  • Health screening fairs
  • Fund raisers (e.g. American Heart Walk, Race for the Cure, Diabetes Walk)
  • Career counseling services.
