Cognitive Skills Program

The Cognitive Skills Program (CSP) is an academic support program that provides services to both students experiencing academic difficulty and to other medical students who wish to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their study and test taking strategies. Most CSP services are offered through confidential, individual consultation tailored to a student's specific needs and integrated with course curricula.  Seminars address effective study strategies as well as preparation strategies for course and licensure exams. During the academic year, small group review sessions and tutorial assistance are available through the CSP to eligible students taking first year courses. The program is available to students in all four years of medical school and also extends to residents, physician assistant students, and graduate students in health related programs.  In addition, the CSP offers seminars and consults with medical students enrolled in the prematriculation summer program and undergraduates in programs sponsored by the Office of Special Academic Programs.
