Mini-Medical School at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
The Mini-Medical School at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
is a community program that educates the public in layman’s
terms about diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative issues in clinical
medicine and scientific research. Mini-Med School is a series of
lectures, held once each week for several weeks, which offer community
members the opportunity to study many of the same topics as medical
school students. The curriculum covers basic science and broad biomedical
subjects including, but not limited to, maternal/fetal medicine,
heart disease, adolescent medicine, cancer, environmental medicine
and neurological disorders. Each lecture is led by nationally-recognized,
award-winning faculty at the medical school and may include small
group discussions, hands-on experiences and guided tours.
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School offers two Mini-Medical School
programs: one to high school students and one to community members
from throughout New Jersey. Information for the high school program
can be found at:

Information about the 2005 community program will be posted shortly.
Participants are expected to attend each session and will receive
a certificate of completion at the end of the program. A medical
or scientific background is not necessary to participate.
